Boxee Beta Brooklyn Bash

The Boxee Beta unveiling is in Brooklyn on December 7th. If you’re in town click here to RSVP. For those who can’t make it in person there will be a live broadcast (by Livestream) via Boxee.

Boxee’s plan is to roll out the Beta gradually till they feel confident enough to release it to the general public. Beta invites will be sent to people attending the event, people who sign up for early access and over time to all existing alpha users.

The old model of expensive, star-driven, 22 minute, standardized, commercially interrupted programming is about to get run out of town by a new model of prosumerism.

The Internet has provided the most pure example of a free market - where content creators have minimal barriers to entry and consumers have maximum control.  It’s about time traditional media embraced it… soon, they may not have a choice.
